Guys In Levi’s

Who is this guy?

I’m a 37 year old graphic artist, photographer, and writer who moved to NYC in August of last year to immerse myself in this well of inspiration and creativity. Over the years I’ve had many interests that have been put on the back burner because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, so now I have a lot of catching up to do.

I could have chosen to do a project on denim, but that’s very imprecise and it’s been done and redone. I’ve been a fan of Levi’s for many years and in that time have noticed that they have a much broader appeal than the other brands that tend to be over-priced and subject to trend. This project focuses specifically on guys who love Levi’s because they are ubiquitous and they take on many forms. So far I’ve only been able to photograph guys in NY, but I would love to be able to take this show on the road to develop a more well-rounded story of the guys who love Levi’s.

If you’re reading this and you’re a guy who loves Levi’s and you’d like to take part in this project please contact me, I’d love to hear from you.

it is interesting concept and looks like Levi’s lookbook in real life. i’d like to know, if you choose models or shoot all men in Levi’s? or just guys that correspond to the brand features as you imagine them. in such a case i’d like to know details in order to write about it more precisely. i think with more photos it will be interesting collection.

      Thank You! I appreciate that.

This project is all about capturing the many faces and personalities of the guys who love Levi’s. It’s about storytelling and I leave it up to each subject to bring his own unique character. My imagination is more at work in framing each individual with my lens and then in the editorial side after the shoot, but I’m not out to make the guys portray something that I see, as I want it to be about them. So if I come away from a shoot feeling that I’ve captured something of a guy’s personality, then I feel I’ve accomplished something. There are a lot more photos of each subject, it just takes a bit of time to sort through and prepare them. Also I’m trying to refrain from posting too much material on here, as I would like for this to one day be a book and I’d like there to be some surprises.

Thank You so much for your interest and your response.

    Hi,
I found your site via the Levi Facebook Link. I work for LS&CO. in the IT department in San Francisco. We have a wall decorating contest on our floor and love the series of pictures you have protrayed ‘Guy’s in Levi’s’. I would like your permission to print the More Gray Skys Blue (my favorite), Rockin Levi’s and Soho Shoot photos. I plan to back them simply with black cardstock to display on part of our wall. Also would like to print your bio above and picture. If it’s not okay I understand.

    Regards,
    Jo

      Hey there,
I’m sorry I only just got this comment, as I didn’t receive a notice about it. I’d be delighted if you’re still interested in using the images. Thank you for your interest and I’m sorry it took me so long to come across this and get back to you.
      Thank You!
